Thunderbirds add Bash Brothers and expectations are high!!

Well the inaugural season of Thunderbird baseball has begun in Trenton. The organization is filled with great young pitching both at the ML level and the minors. However, the Brass in Trenton knew they needed to add offense if the Thunderbirds are to be competitive in an anticipated tough division in the NL North. Shortly before Spring Training, GM Bob Cimorelli landed two Bash Brothers from the New York Knickerbockers. 29yo C Blaine Clement & 30 yo 1B Santos Amaro look to add a 1-2 punch from the 3rd & 4th spots in the Trenton Lineup. The addition did not come at a cheap price as the Thunderbirds had to part with gifted SS prospect Ernie Abbott & young pitching prospect Humberto Lopez. In other deals, often disgruntled closer yet highly talented flame thrower Tito Walsh was sent to the Moon Devils for young & highly touted pitching prospect Alan Moreno. Moreno projects to be a top of the rotation type pitcher who needs at least 1 to 2 more years of seasoning before joining the parent club. He will start the year at Double A. In an interesting deal, 2B prospect Ernie Darnell was sent to Baltimore in exchange for talented yet inconsistent 24yo Southpaw Starter Doyle Matthews. Pitching coach Turner Robinson says " Matthews has some electrifying stuff, throwing a nasty Cut fastball with some real heat. However, with Doyle's trouble finding the strike zone, I may need to put some goalie pads on Clement to prevent passed balls. It should be a very interesting season.
